Summary

The information presented in this paper complements the Progress in the implementation of the New Urban Agenda Report of the Secretary-General (A/76/639–E/2022/10) in reporting implementation progress of the New Urban Agenda by the five UN Regional Commissions (RCs). It reflects the activities arising from paragraph 3 of Economic and Social Council resolution 2017/24, in accordance with General Assembly resolution 71/235. The paper is structured in eight sections, similar to the the second Quadrennial Report, and includes a summary of how RCs reflected sustainable urbanization in their respective Regional Forums for Sustainable Development (RFSD). This is annually convened by the respective UN RCs to review implementation progress of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its SDGs, fulfilling the mandate in resolution 70/1 para 81, as well as resolution 75/224 paras 14 and 17.
