Together with UN-Habitat, UNDP-Art, Diputació de Barcelona and with the support of European Commission, UCLG has developed Training of Trainers (ToT) modules to multiply the knowledge about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) localizing process in all its dimensions, concentrating on different issues related to the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This Training of Trainers methodology was developed to provide local and regional governments, as well as their national associations and local actors, practical guides to implementing the SDGs, training trainers, consolidating a UCLG learning community and identifying focal points on the UCLG regional sections that would be responsible for multiplying the SDG localization trainers locally.
In our Training of Trainers sessions and online courses we use the UCLG Learning modules as a basis to train new trainers who will subsequently join the UCLG Learning facilitators community and to provide further training for community members. With the Modules, each trainee/trainer can design its own local awareness raising strategy, align local policies to the SDGs, monitor and evaluate local processes of localization and design decentralized cooperation policies considering the SDGs principles.
