This is a contribution from a member of GAP (General Assembly of Partners) reporting on progress in implementing the New Urban Agenda. The Government of Kenya commits to promote age- and gender-responsive planning and investment for sustainable, safe, and accessible urban mobility for all, effectively linking people, places, goods, services, and economic opportunities. Noting the existing barriers and gaps which hinder the older persons and persons with disability from being included in the new urban agenda and SDGs, MICOP CBO joined other human rights defenders in the Universal Periodic Review Process to get to the fore the rights of older persons in Kenya.
